You may choose any of the investment products from the pull-down menu: stocks, unit trusts, bonds/CDs, ELI, Gold, and others. Then click the "Buy Now" button and it will navigate to the respective product input page.

Can I place investment orders online any time?
Yes, you can place investment orders via HSBC Internet Banking 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Details are as follows:

• You can place a market order and/or a limit order any time between 9:30 am and 4:00 pm on any Hong Kong trading day.
• On any Hong Kong trading day, during SEHK off-trading hours, you can place a limit order any time, whilst at-auction limit orders are accepted any time except from 9:15am to 9:30am.

Will I receive confirmation of my trading activities or investments?
Yes. We will send you an email to confirm your trading activities, whether or not they are executed or have been rejected. You may check your email messages anytime by clicking "Check your Email Messages for Order Confirmation"

Display details of all your investments under different categories. We shall show you your grand total worth, in equivalent value of the reporting currency based on the previous trading day's close. Quick links are provided to the respective buy/sell instruction.

Check your Email Messages for Order Confirmation
Whatever investment order you placed online, the Bank will send you an email to confirm whether or not it is executed or has been rejected. Through the 'Check your Email message for Order Confirmation', the related order status will be displayed in the 'From HSBC' message box.

Alternatively, you may sign up for our free eAlerts investment order confirmation service to receive your investment order execution result(s) via SMS. For more details about eAlerts, please go to "Manage eAlerts" at "My HSBC" page.

Check Order Status
You can check your order status by clicking the "Check Order Status". You will also receive an email from the Bank informing you of the execution result.

How often is my own investment account holding updated on the site?
It will be updated after settlement is completed.

Why is the value of my investment different from its current market value?
The value of your portfolio is calculated using the closing price of the previous trading day and the quantities of all your settled orders (orders that are executed but not settled are not included).

What is Financial Product and what is not?
Financial Product is a term defined in the Code of Conduct for Persons Licensed by or Registered with the Securities and Futures Commission. The products currently made available by our Retail Banking and Wealth Management business to personal customers are classified as follows:

We provide 2 types of real time quote packages for your selection. In case you have used up the free stock quote count, you could choose to use the "Direct Debit" package to enquire real time stock quote at HKD0.1 per quote. Or you could choose to subscribe for the "Market Live" comprehensive financial information service which gives you access to unlimited real-time streaming stock price plus many others comprehensive market information.

Once you have set up a HSBC's Stocks Monthly Investment Plan, you can buy popular blue chip stocks for as little as HKD1,000 per month. You can start your blue chip stock investment through affordable contributions and benefit from regular investment as well as the potential growth of your stocks.

Why do I need to set up Unit Trust Monthly Investment Plan?
Through regular monthly contributions by investing in a wide range of Equity and Bond funds, you can accumulate your wealth to a sizeable amount with the potential gain on investment so that your financial goals can be achieved without having to set aside a big portion of your savings upfront.
